Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use comparable technologies such as localStorage. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these. Some cookies are strictly necessary; others are only placed with your consent.

2. How we ask for your consent

When you first visit, we show a cookie banner. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, no statistics or marketing cookies are placed until you accept them — you can accept all, reject all, or choose per category. Outside those regions we show a shorter notice. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. Necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them.

3. Cookies we use

3.1 Necessary (always on)

• Session & login cookies — keep you signed in and secure your session (up to 7 days, renewed while you use the app).
• pbp_consent — remembers your cookie choices (stored ~12 months).
• geo_region — records whether your visit is from the EU/EEA/UK so we can show the right consent experience (session only).
• Cloudflare Turnstile — protects our forms from spam and abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

3.2 Statistics (with your consent)

• Vercel Web Analytics & Speed Insights — privacy-friendly, aggregated usage and performance measurement provided by our hosting partner Vercel. See Vercel's privacy policy.

3.3 Marketing (with your consent)

• pbp_session — a short-lived visit identifier used to group page views within a single session (~30 minutes). It is set by the same tracking script as pbp_contact.
• pbp_contact — when you arrive through one of our email or campaign links, this cookie lets us relate your visits to your contact record so we can understand engagement and follow up (stored up to 12 months). This constitutes profiling; see our Privacy Policy for how we use it and how to object.

3.4 Stored on your device by the app (necessary)

• Preferences in localStorage — pbp-language (your language), theme (light or dark), pbp-install-dismissed (that you closed the install prompt), pbp.loginSeen (that you saw the login tip), pbp-bible-position, pbp-bible-font-size and pbp-bible-read (your place, text size and chapters read in the Bible reader), pbp.reports.savedViews and brevo_sync_history (saved report views and an email-sync history for leaders), and a copy of pbp_consent. A sessionStorage flag, pbp-cache-warmed, records that the offline pages were already prepared in this browser session.
• Offline storage — the browser database pbp-offline (lessons and quizzes you downloaded, quiz results and actions waiting to sync) and the service-worker caches pbp-shell, pbp-static, pbp-data and pbp-video (pages you visited, static files, some responses such as Bible text and notifications, and videos you downloaded). You can delete them in your browser settings under site data.

4. Managing and deleting cookies

You can withdraw or change consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings; note that blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
